EMDR International Association Client Success Story
EMDRIA is a professional association where EMDR practitioners and researchers seek the highest standards for the clinical use of EMDR. EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy accepted by leading mental health organizations throughout the world for the treatment of a variety of symptoms and conditions.
In 2002, the organization was at a transformation juncture, moving from a founder-led, informally connected group of professionals to a formalized association of professional members. AES helped identify the first-ever professional association leader, Mr. Scott Blech in 2003. Mr. Blech remained at the helm until his retirement in 2012. In the fall of 2011, the Board of Directors of EMDRIA once again sought the partnership of Alford Executive Search to find Mr. Blech’s successor. A full-scale national search was launched early in 2012 and Mark G. Doherty was named the next Executive Director of EMDRIA in the spring of 2012.
